The Bold and The Beautiful
I’m not sure whether its my excitement at the onset of some sunshine and warmer weather which means a move away from cosy knits and therefore an opportunity for slightly more interesting clothing or just sheer boredom of my recently more pared-down look, but I find myself falling in love with structured dresses and tops covered in bold and colourful prints, something I have shown very little interest in before.
Usually I prefer to have a collection of simpler, more functional pieces that can be teamed up to create one cohesive look which packs its punch through symbiosis of footwear/accessory/jewelery/texture/layering. But this all seems to be changing. What I want now is a power piece, the louder the better; clashing colours, punchy patterns and lines and sharp edges, real ‘statement’ pieces.
Potentially it could be utter laziness - the idea of simply throwing on one of these beautiful dresses with a chunky black strap sandal and simple black coat and creating a powerful look with minimal effort would be a dream..
